About Chris

Chris is the Head Pro at the West Vancouver Tennis Club and has held this position since 1993. Chris was born and raised in Vancouver and was introduced to tennis at a young age while a member of the Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club. As a young adult, Chris became interested in teaching tennis and began his coaching career as an assistant instructor at Vancouver Lawn. Chris then moved on to the Arbutus Club where he worked as the Assistant Pro for six years before assuming his current position as Head Pro at the West Vancouver Tennis Club. Chris is a certified Tennis Canada Level 3 Coach. In 1998 he was selected to be a Tennis Canada National Touring Coach, providing him with the opportunity to work with some of Canada's top national and international level junior players. Chris is also a Tennis BC Provincial Coach where he works with BC's National Junior Teams. Chris's coaching methodology is based on Tennis Canada's "Actions Method" a leading edge teaching system pioneered in Canada and highly regarded in the world tennis community. As the Director of Tennis Programs for both the West Vancouver Tennis Club and the West Vancouver Parks and Recreation Department, Chris's coaching philosophy is to expose his students to the latest norms, trends, expertise and resources in a fun and relaxed learning atmosphere.
